Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Fly Delhi to Leh 3500 meters
Today in the morning flight to Leh, the capital of Ladakh over the Himalaya, surprises with snow cap peaks. In Leh where you will be free to rest at the hotel, gently stroll through the town maze of narrow lane ways or explore Leh market, while your body acclimatises to the altitude.

Day 2 In Leh 3500 meters
We begin our local sightseeing with visit Thiksey monastery is a towering 12-storey structure, painted red, ochre and white. The 15 century monastery is noted for its resemblance to the Potala Palace (the former chief residence of the Dali lama in Tibet). It contains a vast array of Buddhist arts, including the 49ft Maitreya (future Buddha), the largest statue of its kind in Ladakh.
The Hemis Monastery, Ladakh biggest monastery possesses a rich collection of ancient relics and artwork, including a stunning Thangka (embroidered Tibetan silk religious painting) measuring more than 12 meters. The monastery the popular annual Hemis Festival, held in June or July, which features colourful mask dances.

Day 3 Drive to Lamayuru 3450 meters
Today we follow the Leh Srinagar road, along the Indus River. Before village Nimoo we stop for photos of the confluence of the river Indus and Zanskar. Later we visit Alchi monastery, the complex of temples located within the village of Alchi, is most celebrated of Ladakh monasteries. Alchi monastery contains a remarkable record of Buddhist iconography. The mural and the statues of Alchi are different in contains and style from those of others monasteries in Ladakh. It is not only older (built in 11th century) but also has influence of Indian art and iconography rather than Tibetan.
The Lamayuru is the oldest monastery in Ladakh spectacularly located along the valley plain and surrounded by mountains on all sides. In the main temple where you can visit 11th century, Naropa cave. In the evening explore around village and monastery.

Day 4 Trek to Wanla 3200 meters
We begin our adventure trek from the hotel to village Wanla 3200 meter. After the short walk we follow the side valley gorges towards the Pringkitela pass 4100 meters. On the pass we enjoy the view of surrounding mountains range of Zanskar and the colourful flags. After we decent, follow the narrow gorge or valley and we meet the small Shilla River. Tonight we camp in village Wanla, before 10th century Wanla was the capital of lower Ladakh. In the evening we explore around village.

Day 5 Trek to Hinju 3600 meters
Early morning wake up with cup of tea in the tent and after breakfast, we begin our adventure trek. Today is long, but slowly gain the heights and walking along the small river. After Fanji-la we entering the narrow valley follow the small river of village Hinju. The valley is more open when we are close to the camp.

Day 6 Trek to village Sumda Chenmo
Same as yesterday you wake up with cup of tea. We gain the height from the campsite up in the valley. Kongski-la pass 4980 meter is the highest point, during the trek. If you are lucky you might be seeing the animal, such as Himalayan Marmot, Bharal and Red Fox etc. When you are close to the summit the colourful prayer flags welcome you and on the top you have great view of surrounding snow cover peaks. From the pass we have a steep decent towards the camp in village Sumda Chenmo.

Day 7 Short trek and drive to Chilling
From the beginning we walk in the valley down and after we drive to visit hidden 11th century Sumda Chun monastery. Later we drive to Chilling where we setup the camp site. Approximate walk profile: Walk 2hrs / drive to Chilling

Day 8 In Chilling 3200 meters
Today you have an optional day to relax or explore around the village, along the Zanskar River. Village Chilling is well known for copper smith and in 17th century the Ladakhi King Deldan Namgyal, bring some artists or copper smith from Nepal to make a Buddha Statue in Shey Palace. Since their generation live in villages like Chilling, Kaya, Sku and Tsogsti.

Day 9 Drive to Leh
Optional: those who are interested to do the white water rafting in the Zanskar River, please book the seat in advance in Leh.
Those who booked the water rafting and the rafting company jeeps take you to the rafting staring point. Later we meet in rafting finishing point in Sangam (the confluence river Zanskar and Indus) and drive to Leh.

Day 10 In Leh
Today you have an optional tour, drive up to the Khardong-la pass 18000ft or relax in the hotel or explore your own Leh town.

Day 11 Fly to Delhi
In the morning, short drive to Leh airport to catch the flight to Delhi. (trip concludes)
